Duas from the Qur'an & Sunnah

وَإِذۡ يَرۡفَعُ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدَ مِنَ ٱلۡبَيۡتِ وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلُ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلۡ مِنَّآۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ ١٢٧

Waith yarfa‘u ibraheemu alqawa‘ida mina albayti waisma‘eelu rabbana taqabbal minna innaka anta alssamee‘u al‘aleemu

And [mention] when Abraham was raising the foundations of the House and [with him] Ishmael, [saying], "Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing

اور جب ابراہیم اور اسمٰعیل بیت الله کی بنیادیں اونچی کر رہے تھے (تو دعا کئے جاتے تھے کہ) اے پروردگار، ہم سے یہ خدمت قبول فرما۔ بےشک تو سننے والا (اور) جاننے والا ہے

Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:127 Read in context

رَبَّنَا وَٱجۡعَلۡنَا مُسۡلِمَيۡنِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ أُمَّةً مُّسۡلِمَةً لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبۡ عَلَيۡنَآۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ١٢٨

Rabbana waij‘alna muslimayni laka wamin thurriyyatina ommatan muslimatan laka waarina manasikana watub ‘alayna innaka anta alttawwabu alrraheemu

Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful

اے پروردگار، ہم کو اپنا فرمانبردار بنائے رکھیو۔ اور ہماری اولاد میں سے بھی ایک گروہ کو اپنا مطیع بنائے رہیو، اور (پروردگار) ہمیں طریق عبادت بتا اور ہمارے حال پر (رحم کے ساتھ) توجہ فرما۔ بے شک تو توجہ فرمانے والا مہربان ہے

Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:128 Read in context

وَمِنۡهُم مَّن يَقُولُ رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ٢٠١

Waminhum man yaqoolu rabbana atina fee alddunya hasanatan wafee alakhirati hasanatan waqina ‘athaba alnnari

But among them is he who says, "Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire

اور بعضے ایسے ہیں کہ دعا کرتے ہیں کہ پروردگار ہم کو دنیا میں بھی نعمت عطا فرما اور آخرت میں بھی نعمت بخشیو اور دوزخ کے عذاب سے محفوظ رکھیو

Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:201 Read in context

وَلَمَّا بَرَزُواْ لِجَالُوتَ وَجُنُودِهِۦ قَالُواْ رَبَّنَآ أَفۡرِغۡ عَلَيۡنَا صَبۡرً ا وَثَبِّتۡ أَقۡدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ٢٥٠

Walamma barazoo lijaloota wajunoodihi qaloo rabbana afrigh ‘alayna sabran wathabbit aqdamana waonsurna ‘ala alqawmi alkafireena

And when they went forth to [face] Goliath and his soldiers, they said, "Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people

اور جب وہ لوگ جالوت اور اس کے لشکر کے مقابل آئے تو (خدا سے) دعا کی کہ اے پروردگار ہم پر صبر کے دہانے کھول دے اور ہمیں (لڑائی میں) ثابت قدم رکھ اور (لشکر) کفار پر فتحیاب کر

Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:250 Read in context

لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفۡسًا إِلَّا وُسۡعَهَاۚ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتۡ وَعَلَيۡهَا مَا ٱكۡتَسَبَتۡۗ رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذۡنَآ إِن نَّسِينَآ أَوۡ أَخۡطَأۡنَاۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحۡمِلۡ عَلَيۡنَآ إِصۡرً ا كَمَا حَمَلۡتَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِنَاۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلۡنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِۦۖ وَٱعۡفُ عَنَّا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَٱرۡحَمۡنَآۚ أَنتَ مَوۡلَىٰنَا فَٱنصُرۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ٢٨٦

La yukallifu Allahu nafsan illa wus‘aha laha ma kasabat wa‘alayha ma iktasabat rabbana la tuakhithna in naseena aw akhtana rabbana wala tahmil ‘alayna isran kama hamaltahu ‘ala allatheena min qablina rabbana wala tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bihi wao‘fu ‘anna waighfir lana wairhamna anta mawlana faonsurna ‘ala alqawmi alkafireena

Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people

خدا کسی شخص کو اس کی طاقت سے زیادہ تکلیف نہیں دیتا۔ اچھے کام کرے گا تو اس کو ان کا فائدہ ملے گا برے کرے گا تو اسے ان کا نقصان پہنچے گا۔ اے پروردگار اگر ہم سے بھول یا چوک ہوگئی ہو تو ہم سے مؤاخذہ نہ کیجیو۔ اے پروردگار ہم پر ایسا بوجھ نہ ڈالیو جیسا تو نے ہم سے پہلے لوگوں پر ڈالا تھا۔ اے پروردگار جتنا بوجھ اٹھانے کی ہم میں طاقت نہیں اتنا ہمارے سر پر نہ رکھیو۔ اور (اے پروردگار) ہمارے گناہوں سے درگزر کر اور ہمیں بخش دے۔ اور ہم پر رحم فرما۔ تو ہی ہمارا مالک ہے اور ہم کو کافروں پر غالب فرما

Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:286 Read in context

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغۡ قُلُوبَنَا بَعۡدَ إِذۡ هَدَيۡتَنَا وَهَبۡ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةًۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ ٨

Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana ba‘da ith hadaytana wahab lana min ladunka rahmatan innaka anta alwahhabu

[Who say], "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower

اے پروردگار جب تو نے ہمیں ہدایت بخشی ہے تو اس کے بعد ہمارے دلوں میں کجی نہ پیدا کر دیجیو اور ہمیں اپنے ہاں سے نعمت عطا فرما تو تو بڑا عطا فرمانے والا ہے

Qur'an, Surah Ali 'Imran 3:8 Read in context

ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ١٦

Allatheena yaqooloona rabbana innana amanna faighfir lana thunoobana waqina ‘athaba alnnari

Those who say, "Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire

جو خدا سے التجا کرتے ہیں کہ اے پروردگار ہم ایمان لے آئے سو ہم کو ہمارے گناہ معاف فرما اور دوزخ کے عذاب سے محفوظ رکھ

Qur'an, Surah Ali 'Imran 3:16 Read in context

رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا بِمَآ أَنزَلۡتَ وَٱتَّبَعۡنَا ٱلرَّسُولَ فَٱكۡتُبۡنَا مَعَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ ٥٣

Rabbana amanna bima anzalta waittaba‘na alrrasoola faoktubna ma‘a alshshahideena

Our Lord, we have believed in what You revealed and have followed the messenger Jesus, so register us among the witnesses [to truth]

اے پروردگار جو (کتاب) تو نے نازل فرمائی ہے ہم اس پر ایمان لے آئے اور (تیرے) پیغمبر کے متبع ہو چکے تو ہم کو ماننے والوں میں لکھ رکھ

Qur'an, Surah Ali 'Imran 3:53 Read in context

وَمَا كَانَ قَوۡلَهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُواْ رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسۡرَافَنَا فِيٓ أَمۡرِنَا وَثَبِّتۡ أَقۡدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ١٤٧

Wama kana qawlahum illa an qaloo rabbana ighfir lana thunoobana waisrafana fee amrina wathabbit aqdamana waonsurna ‘ala alqawmi alkafireena

And their words were not but that they said, "Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people

اور (اس حالت میں) ان کے منہ سے کوئی بات نکلتی ہے تو یہی کہ اے پروردگار ہمارے گناہ اور زیادتیاں جو ہم اپنے کاموں میں کرتے رہے ہیں معاف فرما اور ہم کو ثابت قدم رکھ اور کافروں پر فتح عنایت فرما

Qur'an, Surah Ali 'Imran 3:147 Read in context

ٱلَّذِينَ يَذۡكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ قِيَٰمً ا وَقُعُودً ا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمۡ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِي خَلۡقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقۡتَ هَٰذَا بَٰطِلً ا سُبۡحَٰنَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ١٩١

Allatheena yathkuroona Allaha qiyaman waqu‘oodan wa‘ala junoobihim wayatafakkaroona fee khalqi alssamawati waalardi rabbana ma khalaqta hatha batilan subhanaka faqina ‘athaba alnnari

Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], "Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire

جو کھڑے اور بیٹھے اور لیٹے (ہر حال میں) خدا کو یاد کرتے اور آسمان اور زمین کی پیدائش میں غور کرتے (اور کہتے ہیں) کہ اے پروردگار! تو نے اس (مخلوق) کو بے فائدہ نہیں پیدا کیا تو پاک ہے تو (قیامت کے دن) ہمیں دوزخ کے عذاب سے بچائیو

Qur'an, Surah Ali 'Imran 3:191 Read in context

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ مَن تُدۡخِلِ ٱلنَّارَ فَقَدۡ أَخۡزَيۡتَهُۥۖ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِنۡ أَنصَارٍ ١٩٢

Rabbana innaka man tudkhili alnnara faqad akhzaytahu wama lilththalimeena min ansarin

Our Lord, indeed whoever You admit to the Fire - You have disgraced him, and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers

اے پروردگار جس کو تو نے دوزخ میں ڈالا اسے رسوا کیا اور ظالموں کا کوئی مددگار نہیں

Qur'an, Surah Ali 'Imran 3:192 Read in context

رَّبَّنَآ إِنَّنَا سَمِعۡنَا مُنَادِيً ا يُنَادِي لِلۡإِيمَٰنِ أَنۡ ءَامِنُواْ بِرَبِّكُمۡ فَـَٔامَنَّاۚ رَبَّنَا فَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرۡ عَنَّا سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارِ ١٩٣

Rabbana innana sami‘na munadiyan yunadee lileemani an aminoo birabbikum faamanna rabbana faighfir lana thunoobana wakaffir ‘anna sayyiatina watawaffana ma‘a alabrari

Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], 'Believe in your Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous

اے پروردگارہم نے ایک ندا کرنے والے کو سنا کہ ایمان کے لیے پکار رہا تھا (یعنی) اپنے پروردگار پر ایمان لاؤ تو ہم ایمان لے آئے اے پروردگار ہمارے گناہ معاف فرما اور ہماری برائیوں کو ہم سے محو کر اور ہم کو دنیا سے نیک بندوں کے ساتھ اٹھا

Qur'an, Surah Ali 'Imran 3:193 Read in context

رَبَّنَا وَءَاتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخۡزِنَا يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۖ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخۡلِفُ ٱلۡمِيعَادَ ١٩٤

Rabbana waatina ma wa‘adtana ‘ala rusulika wala tukhzina yawma alqiyamati innaka la tukhlifu almee‘ada

Our Lord, and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in [Your] promise

اے پروردگار تو نے جن جن چیزوں کے ہم سے اپنے پیغمبروں کے ذریعے سے وعدے کیے ہیں وہ ہمیں عطا فرما اور قیامت کے دن ہمیں رسوا نہ کیجو کچھ شک نہیں کہ تو خلاف وعدہ نہیں کرتا

Qur'an, Surah Ali 'Imran 3:194 Read in context

قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمۡنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمۡ تَغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَتَرۡحَمۡنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ ٢٣

Qala rabbana thalamna anfusana wain lam taghfir lana watarhamna lanakoonanna mina alkhasireena

They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers

دونوں عرض کرنے لگے کہ پروردگار ہم نے اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کیا اور اگر تو ہمیں نہیں بخشے گا اور ہم پر رحم نہیں کرے گا تو ہم تباہ ہو جائیں گے

Qur'an, Surah Al-A'raf 7:23 Read in context

۞وَإِذَا صُرِفَتۡ أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ تِلۡقَآءَ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلنَّارِ قَالُواْ رَبَّنَا لَا تَجۡعَلۡنَا مَعَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٤٧

Waitha surifat absaruhum tilqaa ashabi alnnari qaloo rabbana la taj‘alna ma‘a alqawmi alththalimeena

And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people

اور جب ان کی نگاہیں پلٹ کر اہل دوزخ کی طرف جائیں گی تو عرض کریں گے کہ اے ہمارے پروردگار ہم کو ظالم لوگوں کے ساتھ شامل نہ کیجیو

Qur'an, Surah Al-A'raf 7:47 Read in context

وَمَا تَنقِمُ مِنَّآ إِلَّآ أَنۡ ءَامَنَّا بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَآءَتۡنَاۚ رَبَّنَآ أَفۡرِغۡ عَلَيۡنَا صَبۡرً ا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسۡلِمِينَ ١٢٦

Wama tanqimu minna illa an amanna biayati rabbina lamma jaatna rabbana afrigh ‘alayna sabran watawaffana muslimeena

And you do not resent us except because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You]

اور اس کے سوا تجھ کو ہماری کون سی بات بری لگی ہے کہ جب ہمارے پروردگار کی نشانیاں ہمارے پاس آگئیں تو ہم ان پر ایمان لے آئے۔ اے پروردگار ہم پر صبرواستقامت کے دہانے کھول دے اور ہمیں (ماریو تو) مسلمان ہی ماریو

Qur'an, Surah Al-A'raf 7:126 Read in context

فَقَالُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوَكَّلۡنَا رَبَّنَا لَا تَجۡعَلۡنَا فِتۡنَةً لِّلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٨٥ وَنَجِّنَا بِرَحۡمَتِكَ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ ٨٦

Faqaloo ‘ala Allahi tawakkalna rabbana la taj‘alna fitnatan lilqawmi alththalimeena Wanajjina birahmatika mina alqawmi alkafireena

So they said, "Upon Allah do we rely. Our Lord, make us not [objects of] trial for the wrongdoing people And save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people

تو وہ بولے کہ ہم خدا ہی پر بھروسہ رکھتے ہیں۔ اے ہمارے پروردگار ہم کو ظالم لوگوں کے ہاتھ سے آزمائش میں نہ ڈال اور اپنی رحمت سے قوم کفار سے نجات بخش

Qur'an, Surah Yunus 10:85–86 Read in context

رَبِّ ٱجۡعَلۡنِي مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِيۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلۡ دُعَآءِ ٤٠ رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لِي وَلِوَٰلِدَيَّ وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلۡحِسَابُ ٤١

Rabbi ij‘alnee muqeema alssalati wamin thurriyyatee rabbana wtaqabbal du‘ai Rabbana ighfir lee waliwalidayya walilmumineena yawma yaqoomu alhisabu

My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established

اے پروردگار مجھ کو (ایسی توفیق عنایت) کر کہ نماز پڑھتا رہوں اور میری اولاد کو بھی (یہ توفیق بخش) اے پروردگار میری دعا قبول فرما اے پروردگار حساب (کتاب) کے دن مجھ کو اور میرے ماں باپ کو اور مومنوں کو مغفرت کیجیو

Qur'an, Surah Ibrahim 14:40–41 Read in context

وَٱخۡفِضۡ لَهُمَا جَنَاحَ ٱلذُّلِّ مِنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَةِ وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱرۡحَمۡهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرً ا ٢٤

Waikhfid lahuma janaha alththulli mina alrrahmati waqul rabbi irhamhuma kama rabbayanee sagheeran

And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small

اور عجزو نیاز سے ان کے آگے جھکے رہو اور ان کے حق میں دعا کرو کہ اے پروردگار جیسا انہوں نے مجھے بچپن میں (شفقت سے) پرورش کیا ہے تو بھی اُن (کے حال) پر رحمت فرما

Qur'an, Surah Al-Isra 17:24 Read in context

وَقُل رَّبِّ أَدۡخِلۡنِي مُدۡخَلَ صِدۡقٍ وَأَخۡرِجۡنِي مُخۡرَجَ صِدۡقٍ وَٱجۡعَل لِّي مِن لَّدُنكَ سُلۡطَٰنً ا نَّصِيرً ا ٨٠

Waqul rabbi adkhilnee mudkhala sidqin waakhrijnee mukhraja sidqin waij‘al lee min ladunka sultanan naseeran

And say, "My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority

اور کہو کہ اے پروردگار مجھے (مدینے میں) اچھی طرح داخل کیجیو اور (مکے سے) اچھی طرح نکالیو۔ اور اپنے ہاں سے زور وقوت کو میرا مددگار بنائیو

Qur'an, Surah Al-Isra 17:80 Read in context

إِذۡ أَوَى ٱلۡفِتۡيَةُ إِلَى ٱلۡكَهۡفِ فَقَالُواْ رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةً وَهَيِّئۡ لَنَا مِنۡ أَمۡرِنَا رَشَدً ا ١٠

Ith awa alfityatu ila alkahfi faqaloo rabbana atina min ladunka rahmatan wahayyi lana min amrina rashadan

[Mention] when the youths retreated to the cave and said, "Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance

جب وہ جوان غار میں جا رہے تو کہنے لگے کہ اے ہمارے پروردگار ہم پر اپنے ہاں سے رحمت نازل فرما۔ اور ہمارے کام درستی (کے سامان) مہیا کر

Qur'an, Surah Al-Kahf 18:10 Read in context

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱشۡرَحۡ لِي صَدۡرِي ٢٥ وَيَسِّرۡ لِيٓ أَمۡرِي ٢٦ وَٱحۡلُلۡ عُقۡدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي ٢٧ يَفۡقَهُواْ قَوۡلِي ٢٨

Qala rabbi ishrah lee sadree Wayassir lee amree Waohlul ‘uqdatan min lisanee Yafqahoo qawlee

[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] And ease for me my task And untie the knot from my tongue That they may understand my speech

کہا میرے پروردگار (اس کام کے لئے) میرا سینہ کھول دے اور میرا کام آسان کردے اور میری زبان کی گرہ کھول دے تاکہ وہ بات سمجھ لیں

Qur'an, Surah Taha 20:25–28 Read in context

فَتَعَٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمَلِكُ ٱلۡحَقُّۗ وَلَا تَعۡجَلۡ بِٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ مِن قَبۡلِ أَن يُقۡضَىٰٓ إِلَيۡكَ وَحۡيُهُۥۖ وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدۡنِي عِلۡمً ا ١١٤

Fata‘ala Allahu almaliku alhaqqu wala ta‘jal bialqurani min qabli an yuqda ilayka wahyuhu waqul rabbi zidnee ‘ilman

So high [above all] is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth. And, [O Muhammad], do not hasten with [recitation of] the Qur'an before its revelation is completed to you, and say, "My Lord, increase me in knowledge

تو خدا جو سچا بادشاہ ہے عالی قدر ہے۔ اور قرآن کی وحی جو تمہاری طرف بھیجی جاتی ہے اس کے پورا ہونے سے پہلے قرآن کے (پڑھنے کے) لئے جلدی نہ کیا کرو اور دعا کرو کہ میرے پروردگار مجھے اور زیادہ علم دے

Qur'an, Surah Taha 20:114 Read in context

۞وَأَيُّوبَ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرۡحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ ٨٣

Waayyooba ith nada rabbahu annee massaniya alddurru waanta arhamu alrrahimeena

And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful

اور ایوب کو (یاد کرو) جب انہوں نے اپنے پروردگار سے دعا کی کہ مجھے ایذا ہو رہی ہے اور تو سب سے بڑھ کر رحم کرنے والا ہے

Qur'an, Surah Al-Anbiya 21:83 Read in context

وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَٰضِبً ا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقۡدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِي ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبۡحَٰنَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ٨٧

Watha alnnooni ith thahaba mughadiban fathanna an lan naqdira ‘alayhi fanada fee alththulumati an la ilaha illa anta subhanaka innee kuntu mina alththalimeena

And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers

اور ذوالنون (کو یاد کرو) جب وہ (اپنی قوم سے ناراض ہو کر) غصے کی حالت میں چل دیئے اور خیال کیا کہ ہم ان پر قابو نہیں پاسکیں گے۔ آخر اندھیرے میں (خدا کو) پکارنے لگے کہ تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ تو پاک ہے (اور) بےشک میں قصوروار ہوں

Qur'an, Surah Al-Anbiya 21:87 Read in context

وَزَكَرِيَّآ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرۡنِي فَرۡدً ا وَأَنتَ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ ٨٩

Wazakariyya ith nada rabbahu rabbi la tatharnee fardan waanta khayru alwaritheena

And [mention] Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, "My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while you are the best of inheritors

اور زکریا (کو یاد کرو) جب انہوں نے اپنے پروردگار کو پکارا کہ پروردگار مجھے اکیلا نہ چھوڑ اور تو سب سے بہتر وارث ہے

Qur'an, Surah Al-Anbiya 21:89 Read in context

وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلۡنِي مُنزَلً ا مُّبَارَكً ا وَأَنتَ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡمُنزِلِينَ ٢٩

Waqul rabbi anzilnee munzalan mubarakan waanta khayru almunzileena

And say, 'My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate [us]

اور (یہ بھی) دعا کرنا کہ اے پروردگار ہم کو مبارک جگہ اُتاریو اور تو سب سے بہتر اُتارنے والا ہے

Qur'an, Surah Al-Mu'minun 23:29 Read in context

وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنۡ هَمَزَٰتِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ ٩٧ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحۡضُرُونِ ٩٨

Waqul rabbi a‘oothu bika min hamazati alshshayateeni Waa‘oothu bika rabbi an yahdurooni

And say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me

اور کہو کہ اے پروردگار! میں شیطانوں کے وسوسوں سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہو اور اے پروردگار! اس سے بھی تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں کہ وہ میرے پاس آموجود ہوں

Qur'an, Surah Al-Mu'minun 23:97–98 Read in context

وَقُل رَّبِّ ٱغۡفِرۡ وَٱرۡحَمۡ وَأَنتَ خَيۡرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ ١١٨

Waqul rabbi ighfir wairham waanta khayru alrrahimeena

And, [O Muhammad], say, "My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful

اور خدا سے دعا کرو کہ میرے پروردگار مجھے بخش دے اور (مجھ پر) رحم کر اور تو سب سے بہتر رحم کرنے والا ہے

Qur'an, Surah Al-Mu'minun 23:118 Read in context

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱصۡرِفۡ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا ٦٥ إِنَّهَا سَآءَتۡ مُسۡتَقَرًّ ا وَمُقَامً ا ٦٦

Waallatheena yaqooloona rabbana isrif ‘anna ‘athaba jahannama inna ‘athabaha kana gharaman Innaha saat mustaqarran wamuqaman

And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence

اور جو دعا مانگتے رہتے ہیں کہ اے پروردگار دوزخ کے عذاب کو ہم سے دور رکھیو کہ اس کا عذاب بڑی تکلیف کی چیز ہے اور دوزخ ٹھیرنے اور رہنے کی بہت بری جگہ ہے

Qur'an, Surah Al-Furqan 25:65–66 Read in context

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبۡ لَنَا مِنۡ أَزۡوَٰجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعۡيُنٍ وَٱجۡعَلۡنَا لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا ٧٤

Waallatheena yaqooloona rabbana hab lana min azwajina wathurriyyatina qurrata a‘yunin waij‘alna lilmuttaqeena imaman

And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous

اور وہ جو (خدا سے) دعا مانگتے ہیں کہ اے پروردگار ہم کو ہماری بیویوں کی طرف سے (دل کا چین) اور اولاد کی طرف سے آنکھ کی ٹھنڈک عطا فرما اور ہمیں پرہیزگاروں کا امام بنا

Qur'an, Surah Al-Furqan 25:74 Read in context

رَبِّ هَبۡ لِي حُكۡمً ا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِي بِٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ٨٣ وَٱجۡعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدۡقٍ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ ٨٤ وَٱجۡعَلۡنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ٨٥

Rabbi hab lee hukman waalhiqnee bialssaliheena Waij‘al lee lisana sidqin fee alakhireena Waij‘alnee min warathati jannati alnna‘eemi

[And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure

اے پروردگار مجھے علم ودانش عطا فرما اور نیکوکاروں میں شامل کر اور پچھلے لوگوں میں میرا ذکر نیک (جاری) کر اور مجھے نعمت کی بہشت کے وارثوں میں کر

Qur'an, Surah Ash-Shu'ara 26:83–85 Read in context

فَتَبَسَّمَ ضَاحِكً ا مِّن قَوۡلِهَا وَقَالَ رَبِّ أَوۡزِعۡنِيٓ أَنۡ أَشۡكُرَ نِعۡمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِيٓ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَيَّ وَأَنۡ أَعۡمَلَ صَٰلِحً ا تَرۡضَىٰهُ وَأَدۡخِلۡنِي بِرَحۡمَتِكَ فِي عِبَادِكَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ١٩

Fatabassama dahikan min qawliha waqala rabbi awzi‘nee an ashkura ni‘mataka allatee an‘amta ‘alayya wa‘ala walidayya waan a‘mala salihan tardahu waadkhilnee birahmatika fee ‘ibadika alssaliheena

So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants

تو وہ اس کی بات سن کر ہنس پڑے اور کہنے لگے کہ اے پروردگار! مجھے توفیق عطا فرما کہ جو احسان تونے مجھ پر اور میرے ماں باپ پر کئے ہیں ان کا شکر کروں اور ایسے نیک کام کروں کہ تو ان سے خوش ہوجائے اور مجھے اپنی رحمت سے اپنے نیک بندوں میں داخل فرما

Qur'an, Surah An-Naml 27:19 Read in context

فَسَقَىٰ لَهُمَا ثُمَّ تَوَلَّىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلظِّلِّ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَآ أَنزَلۡتَ إِلَيَّ مِنۡ خَيۡرٍ فَقِيرٌ ٢٤

Fasaqa lahuma thumma tawalla ila alththilli faqala rabbi innee lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqeerun

So he watered [their flocks] for them; then he went back to the shade and said, "My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need

تو موسٰی نے اُن کے لئے (بکریوں کو) پانی پلا دیا پھر سائے کی طرف چلے گئے۔ اور کہنے لگے کہ پروردگار میں اس کا محتاج ہوں کہ تو مجھ پر اپنی نعمت نازل فرمائے

Qur'an, Surah Al-Qasas 28:24 Read in context

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرۡنِي عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ ٣٠

Qala rabbi onsurnee ‘ala alqawmi almufsideena

He said, "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people

لوط نے کہا کہ اے میرے پروردگار ان مفسد لوگوں کے مقابلے میں مجھے نصرت عنایت فرما

Qur'an, Surah Al-'Ankabut 29:30 Read in context

ٱلَّذِينَ يَحۡمِلُونَ ٱلۡعَرۡشَ وَمَنۡ حَوۡلَهُۥ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَيُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْۖ رَبَّنَا وَسِعۡتَ كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ رَّحۡمَةً وَعِلۡمً ا فَٱغۡفِرۡ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُواْ وَٱتَّبَعُواْ سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ٧

Allatheena yahmiloona al‘arsha waman hawlahu yusabbihoona bihamdi rabbihim wayuminoona bihi wayastaghfiroona lillatheena amanoo rabbana wasi‘ta kulla shayin rahmatan wa‘ilman faighfir lillatheena taboo waittaba‘oo sabeelaka waqihim ‘athaba aljaheemi

Those [angels] who carry the Throne and those around it exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord and believe in Him and ask forgiveness for those who have believed, [saying], "Our Lord, You have encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who have repented and followed Your way and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire

جو لوگ عرش کو اٹھائے ہوئے اور جو اس کے گردا گرد (حلقہ باندھے ہوئے) ہیں (یعنی فرشتے) وہ اپنے پروردگار کی تعریف کے ساتھ تسبیح کرتے رہتے ہیں اور مومنوں کے لئے بخشش مانگتے رہتے ہیں۔ کہ اے ہمارے پروردگار تیری رحمت اور تیرا علم ہر چیز کو احاطہ کئے ہوئے ہے تو جن لوگوں نے توبہ کی اور تیرے رستے پر چلے ان کو بخش دے اور دوزخ کے عذاب سے بچالے

Qur'an, Surah Ghafir 40:7 Read in context

وَوَصَّيۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيۡهِ إِحۡسَٰنًاۖ حَمَلَتۡهُ أُمُّهُۥ كُرۡهً ا وَوَضَعَتۡهُ كُرۡهً اۖ وَحَمۡلُهُۥ وَفِصَٰلُهُۥ ثَلَٰثُونَ شَهۡرًاۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَبَلَغَ أَرۡبَعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ رَبِّ أَوۡزِعۡنِيٓ أَنۡ أَشۡكُرَ نِعۡمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِيٓ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَيَّ وَأَنۡ أَعۡمَلَ صَٰلِحً ا تَرۡضَىٰهُ وَأَصۡلِحۡ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِيٓۖ إِنِّي تُبۡتُ إِلَيۡكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ ١٥

Wawassayna alinsana biwalidayhi ihsanan hamalathu ommuhu kurhan wawada‘athu kurhan wahamluhu wafisaluhu thalathoona shahran hatta itha balagha ashuddahu wabalagha arba‘eena sanatan qala rabbi awzi‘nee an ashkura ni‘mataka allatee an‘amta ‘alayya wa‘ala walidayya waan a‘mala salihan tardahu waaslih lee fee thurriyyatee innee tubtu ilayka wainnee mina almuslimeena

And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims

اور ہم نے انسان کو اپنے والدین کے ساتھ بھلائی کرنے کا حکم دیا۔ اس کی ماں نے اس کو تکلیف سے پیٹ میں رکھا اور تکلیف ہی سے جنا۔ اور اس کا پیٹ میں رہنا اور دودھ چھوڑنا ڈھائی برس میں ہوتا ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ جب خوب جوان ہوتا ہے اور چالیس برس کو پہنچ جاتا ہے تو کہتا ہے کہ اے میرے پروردگار مجھے توفیق دے کہ تو نے جو احسان مجھ پر اور میرے ماں باپ پر کئے ہیں ان کا شکر گزار ہوں اور یہ کہ نیک عمل کروں جن کو تو پسند کرے۔ اور میرے لئے میری اولاد میں صلاح (وتقویٰ) دے۔ میں تیری طرف رجوع کرتا ہوں اور میں فرمانبرداروں میں ہوں

Qur'an, Surah Al-Ahqaf 46:15 Read in context

وَٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَلِإِخۡوَٰنِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلۡإِيمَٰنِ وَلَا تَجۡعَلۡ فِي قُلُوبِنَا غِلًّ ا لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ رَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ ١٠

Waallatheena jaoo min ba‘dihim yaqooloona rabbana ighfir lana waliikhwanina allatheena sabaqoona bialeemani wala taj‘al fee quloobina ghillan lillatheena amanoo rabbana innaka raoofun raheemun

And [there is a share for] those who came after them, saying, "Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts [any] resentment toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful

اور (ان کے لئے بھی) جو ان (مہاجرین) کے بعد آئے (اور) دعا کرتے ہیں کہ اے پروردگار ہمارے اور ہمارے بھائیوں کے جو ہم سے پہلے ایمان لائے ہیں گناہ معاف فرما اور مومنوں کی طرف سے ہمارے دل میں کینہ (وحسد) نہ پیدا ہونے دے۔ اے ہمارے پروردگار تو بڑا شفقت کرنے والا مہربان ہے

Qur'an, Surah Al-Hashr 59:10 Read in context

قَدۡ كَانَتۡ لَكُمۡ أُسۡوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ فِيٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥٓ إِذۡ قَالُواْ لِقَوۡمِهِمۡ إِنَّا بُرَءَٰٓؤُاْ مِنكُمۡ وَمِمَّا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَفَرۡنَا بِكُمۡ وَبَدَا بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡعَدَٰوَةُ وَٱلۡبَغۡضَآءُ أَبَدًا حَتَّىٰ تُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَحۡدَهُۥٓ إِلَّا قَوۡلَ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ لَأَسۡتَغۡفِرَنَّ لَكَ وَمَآ أَمۡلِكُ لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَيۡءٍۖ رَّبَّنَا عَلَيۡكَ تَوَكَّلۡنَا وَإِلَيۡكَ أَنَبۡنَا وَإِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ ٤

Qad kanat lakum oswatun hasanatun fee ibraheema waallatheena ma‘ahu ith qaloo liqawmihim inna buraao minkum wamimma ta‘budoona min dooni Allahi kafarna bikum wabada baynana wabaynakumu al‘adawatu waalbaghdao abadan hatta tuminoo biAllahi wahdahu illa qawla ibraheema liabeehi laastaghfiranna laka wama amliku laka mina Allahi min shayin rabbana ‘alayka tawakkalna wailayka anabna wailayka almaseeru

There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, "Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone" except for the saying of Abraham to his father, "I will surely ask forgiveness for you, but I have not [power to do] for you anything against Allah. Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destination

تمہیں ابراہیم اور ان کے رفقاء کی نیک چال چلنی (ضرور) ہے۔ جب انہوں نے اپنی قوم کے لوگوں سے کہا کہ ہم تم سے اور ان (بتوں) سے جن کو تم خدا کے سوا پوجتے ہو بےتعلق ہیں (اور) تمہارے (معبودوں کے کبھی) قائل نہیں (ہوسکتے) اور جب تک تم خدائے واحد اور ایمان نہ لاؤ ہم میں تم میں ہمیشہ کھلم کھلا عداوت اور دشمنی رہے گی۔ ہاں ابراہیمؑ نے اپنے باپ سے یہ (ضرور) کہا کہ میں آپ کے لئے مغفرت مانگوں گا اور خدا کے سامنے آپ کے بارے میں کسی چیز کا کچھ اختیار نہیں رکھتا۔ اے ہمارے پروردگار تجھ ہی پر ہمارا بھروسہ ہے اور تیری ہی طرف ہم رجوع کرتے ہیں اور تیرے ہی حضور میں (ہمیں) لوٹ کر آنا ہے

Qur'an, Surah Al-Mumtahanah 60:4 Read in context

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوۡبَةً نَّصُوحًا عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمۡ أَن يُكَفِّرَ عَنكُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡ وَيُدۡخِلَكُمۡ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ يَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡزِي ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيَّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥۖ نُورُهُمۡ يَسۡعَىٰ بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَبِأَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ أَتۡمِمۡ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَآۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٍ قَدِيرٌ ٨

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo tooboo ila Allahi tawbatan nasoohan ‘asa rabbukum an yukaffira ‘ankum sayyiatikum wayudkhilakum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu yawma la yukhzee Allahu alnnabiyya waallatheena amanoo ma‘ahu nooruhum yas‘a bayna aydeehim wabiaymanihim yaqooloona rabbana atmim lana noorana waighfir lana innaka ‘ala kulli shayin qadeerun

O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow [on] the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will proceed before them and on their right; they will say, "Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things competent

مومنو! خدا کے آگے صاف دل سے توبہ کرو۔ امید ہے کہ وہ تمہارے گناہ تم سے دور کر دے گا اور تم کو باغہائے بہشت میں جن کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہیں داخل کرے گا۔ اس دن پیغمبر کو اور ان لوگوں کو جو ان کے ساتھ ایمان لائے ہیں رسوا نہیں کرے گا (بلکہ) ان کا نور ایمان ان کے آگے اور داہنی طرف (روشنی کرتا ہوا) چل رہا ہوگا۔ اور وہ خدا سے التجا کریں گے کہ اے پروردگار ہمارا نور ہمارے لئے پورا کر اور ہمیں معاف کرنا۔ بےشک خدا ہر چیز پر قادر ہے

Qur'an, Surah At-Tahrim 66:8 Read in context

رَّبِّ ٱغۡفِرۡ لِي وَلِوَٰلِدَيَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيۡتِيَ مُؤۡمِنً ا وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارَۢا ٢٨

Rabbi ighfir lee waliwalidayya waliman dakhala baytiya muminan walilmumineena waalmuminati wala tazidi alththalimeena illa tabaran

My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالتُّقَى، وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنَى

Allahumma inni as'alukal-huda wat-tuqa, wal-'afafa wal-ghina

O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency.

اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے ہدایت، تقویٰ، پاکدامنی اور بے نیازی مانگتا ہوں۔

One of the Prophet's ﷺ most comprehensive personal supplications, combining worldly and religious good.

Sahih Muslim, No. 2721 — 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA)

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbala

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good and pure provision, and deeds that are accepted.

اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے نفع بخش علم، پاکیزہ رزق اور قبول ہونے والا عمل مانگتا ہوں۔

The Prophet ﷺ used to seek refuge from knowledge that does not benefit, as part of his daily supplications.

Sunan Ibn Majah, No. 925 — Umm Salamah (RA)

اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي لِأَحْسَنِ الْأَخْلَاقِ لَا يَهْدِي لِأَحْسَنِهَا إِلَّا أَنْتَ، وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّي سَيِّئَهَا لَا يَصْرِفُ عَنِّي سَيِّئَهَا إِلَّا أَنْتَ

Allahummahdini li-ahsanil-akhlaqi la yahdi li-ahsaniha illa Ant, wasrif 'anni sayyi'aha la yasrifu 'anni sayyi'aha illa Ant

O Allah, guide me to the best of character, for none guides to the best of it but You, and turn away from me its evil, for none turns away from me its evil but You.

اے اللہ! مجھے بہترین اخلاق کی ہدایت دے، تیرے سوا کوئی اس کی ہدایت نہیں دے سکتا، اور مجھ سے برے اخلاق کو دور رکھ، تیرے سوا کوئی اسے دور نہیں رکھ سکتا۔

The Prophet ﷺ would ask Allah for good guidance and for protection from bad character.

Sahih Muslim, No. 771 — 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA)

اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

Allahummak-fini bihalalika 'an haramik, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak

O Allah, suffice me with what You have made lawful, away from what You have made unlawful, and enrich me by Your grace so I am independent of all others besides You.

اے اللہ! مجھے اپنے حلال کے ذریعے حرام سے بچا، اور اپنے فضل سے مجھے اپنے سوا سب سے بے نیاز کر دے۔

A comprehensive dua for lawful provision and freedom from dependence on others.

Sunan al-Tirmidhi, No. 3563 — 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA)

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي بِنِعْمَتِهِ تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ

Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi bini'matihi tatimmus-salihat

Praise be to Allah, by whose grace good deeds are completed.

تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں جس کی نعمت سے نیک اعمال مکمل ہوتے ہیں۔

The Prophet ﷺ taught this concise dua for expressing complete gratitude to Allah upon any blessing or relief.

Sunan Ibn Majah / Al-Hakim, Ibn Majah No. 3803 — 'Aishah (RA)

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ، لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ، لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَرَبُّ الْأَرْضِ وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ

La ilaha illallahul-'Azimul-Halim, la ilaha illallahu Rabbul-'Arshil-'Azim, la ilaha illallahu Rabbus-samawati wa Rabbul-ardi wa Rabbul-'Arshil-Karim

There is no god but Allah, the Mighty, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the Magnificent Throne. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth, and Lord of the Noble Throne.

اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، جو عظیم اور بردبار ہے، اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں جو عرش عظیم کا رب ہے، اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں جو آسمانوں اور زمین اور عرش کریم کا رب ہے۔

Recited by the Prophet ﷺ at times of great difficulty and hardship.
